Taya and Keith

The couple fell in love with Casa de las Flores in 2007 when they walked through it during their honeymoon. It never left their minds. After having seeing the property only once, they decided to purchase it in 2013. Keith is a retired banker and Taya runs her own branding firm. They previously ran a five star B&B on the Sunshine Coast and now live in beautiful wine country in Kelowna, B.C. Canada. They plan to eventually settle in Bucerias full time to retire and raise their now 6 year-old son. Their venture into learning Spanish is definitely on their list!

Taya and Keith

Hugo

As Keith and Taya are not living in Bucerias, they have an English and Spanish speaking property manager named Hugo who is responsible for the guest experience and managing the house staff. Hugo is actually also their accountant. A mover and shaker in Bucerias and the Bay, he will greet you when you arrive to help you get settled and answer any questions you may have to ensure stay is a comfortable one. Hugo lives off property but close by and can be there at moment’s notice as needed by the guests.

PETRA

Petra is our full time, year round housekeeper who ensures that we maintain the cleanliness of the property with her TLC, making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. Although Petra speaks Spanish and only a little bit of English, her gestures and big smile go a long way.

Yes there is one available when Petra is not using it for people renting the Villa and Estate. If you are going to use the washer and dryer on site, please check with Petra before you start a load. There is however a great laundry a few blocks away and at a very minimal cost it is all packaged for you nicely which is a much better way to spend a vacation. Trust us, even when we’re at the house, we use the laundry service. Many guest take their dirty laundry there prior to leaving to get it washed and folded at an unbelievably low cost.
There are quite a few mini-superstores within a 3 minute walking radius which are great for your immediate needs. "Mega" is 10 minutes away by taxi and has everything you need for one big shop with slightly lower prices. There is also a great Farmer's Market that happens weekly on the main street down a few blocks from the house, usually on a Wednesday but we encourage you to ask around as things change often.
Casitas are each provided with mobile phones with enough time to book local taxis, restaurants etc. If you require more time, you can load the phone with minutes at the local mini super. The Main house has a land phone, which can be used for local calls. (Please no phone calls to Paris).
Now my wife will say you don’t need a TV while on vacation but I will tell you, sometimes you need a little distraction or you need to get a game from time to time. There is a TV in the living room of the Main Villa which has an Apple TV device as well as cable television in each of the casitas. There is wireless internet throughout the entire property and we have a booster on it to make it as effective as possible.
As an avid Barclay’s Premiere League and Champions League Fan, I will tell you the best place to watch the games in Bucerias is on the other side of the bridge at a place called Yo Yo Ma’s . The owner is Canadian and also does a good deep dish pizza.
3 times per week, beach and pool towels are available at the pool daily.
Glass is a no-go around the pool because it can damage it permanently. Only plastic around the pool is safer for the property and for you. Plastic glasses are available in the casitas and the villa. Please, no smoking. Guest can smoke outside the gates of the property, but please clean your butts.
